We are working with a highly experienced and values-led Head of HR who is seeking a new opportunity in either Essex or London. They are open to both long-term interim and permanent positions and are looking for a role in the region of £75,000.
With significant experience in HR, they bring a calm, professional, and solutions-focused approach to their work. They have significant experience advising senior leaders on complex people matters, always with sound judgement, legal compliance, and discretion.
Their career spans employee relations, organisational change, HR policy, and performance management. They are particularly skilled at managing sensitive ER cases, including disciplinaries, grievances, long-term absence, and tribunals.
In their most recent role, they led the HR function for a workforce of over 350 employees across multiple sites. They were the strategic lead on all HR matters, supporting senior stakeholders with advice on culture, leadership, and compliance. They managed a small HR team and drove forward several successful change programmes. These included TUPE transfers, restructures, and a focus on inclusive recruitment and development practices.
Their strength in communication and influencing is clear. They are trusted by senior teams for their ability to listen, assess risk, and offer calm, well-reasoned advice. They take pride in delivering people-focused solutions that also meet organisational goals.
As a senior HR leader, they have consistently championed fairness, accountability, and inclusion, with particular success in addressing pay gaps and improving workforce balance.
Earlier in their career, they worked as an HR Consultant and in central government. These roles gave them experience of public sector HR, including investigations, tribunal work, and policy development in unionised settings. They also bring broader operational experience across finance, compliance, and health and safety, adding to their credibility with business leaders.
They hold a CIPD Level 7 qualification and achieved distinction in employment law. They are IOSH qualified and have maintained up-to-date safeguarding training.
This is a thoughtful and capable senior HR professional who brings both strategic insight and practical experience. They are available at short notice and ready to add value in either an interim or permanent Head of HR role.
