Head of HR – North West and UK Wide – c. £90,000
A senior HR leader with over twenty years’ experience operating at Head of HR and Deputy HR Director level within large, complex organisations.
You get a commercially focused HR partner who works closely with executive teams in fast-paced, multi-site environments. Experience spans multiple sectors, supporting organisations through growth, restructuring, and operational pressure.
The consistent focus is on aligning people strategy with business performance, margin, and delivery.
A key strength is leading large-scale transformation while maintaining pace and engagement. Recent work includes partnering with senior leaders to deliver substantial cost savings and margin improvement through operating model and value chain redesign.
This involved strong governance, senior stakeholder alignment, and delivery within tight timeframes.
Career experience includes leading HR strategy across sales, supply chain, and central functions, supporting multi-year transformation programmes and sustained performance improvement.
Organisational design and workforce optimisation are core themes. This covers restructures, TUPE, site closures, integrations, and redeployment programmes.
The outcome has been repeated seven-figure savings alongside stronger accountability and leadership alignment.
This candidate builds HR functions that are trusted and commercially credible. They have led the shift from transactional HR to a true people partnering model, supported by strong specialist capability across reward, learning and development, recruitment, and internal communications.
The result is lower risk, better decision making, and clearer leadership ownership.
Leadership development and succession planning have delivered clear impact. Practical frameworks have been embedded to build confident, commercially aware leaders. Most senior stakeholders progressed into broader or more senior roles, with succession plans now covering the vast majority of critical roles over a multi-year horizon.
Engagement, retention, and employee relations outcomes are strong. Results include a marked uplift in engagement, a clear reduction in early attrition and overall turnover, lower absence levels, and a significant drop in employee relations cases through clearer frameworks and improved line manager capability.
Alongside permanent leadership roles, this candidate is highly effective in interim assignments. Recent interim work focused on complex consultation, restructuring, and operating model integration linked to a major commercial agreement, requiring calm delivery under pressure.
Based in the North West and flexible UK-wide. Available for senior permanent roles or longer-term interim assignments, with salary or day rate expectations aligned to a c. £90,000 equivalent depending on scope.
A strong option if you need senior HR leadership to stabilise, reset, or deliver change at pace.
