HR Manager | Midlands | c£40-45,000
We’re pleased to be supporting an experienced HR professional who brings strong generalist expertise, with particular depth in employee relations, coaching, and wellbeing. They are open to both interim and permanent opportunities and bring strong HR experience from the care, education, and professional services sectors.
They have a clear passion for continuous improvement, both personally and across the organisations they support. They work closely with stakeholders at all levels to embed HR practices that are practical, values-led, and aligned with business needs. Their approach combines integrity, empathy, and a strong understanding of employment law to deliver outcomes that support both people and performance.
Most recently, they spent three years building and leading a newly formed in-house ER function within a large multi-site organisation. As HR Manager, they managed a team of two, delivered full case management on complex ER issues, oversaw TUPE and tribunal cases, and led on employee engagement initiatives. They created a suite of tailored HR policies, developed a SharePoint hub to support line managers, and rolled out bespoke training on ER processes and investigations. The impact of this work was clear – lower appeal rates, improved case quality, and better retention.
Prior to this, they held a standalone HR role, supporting around 225 staff. Sitting as part of the senior leadership team, they led all HR activity – from recruitment and onboarding through to ER, wellbeing, and compliance. Their work in this role included launching a wellbeing portal, delivering internal wellbeing campaigns, leading variation processes and small-scale redundancies, and supporting regulatory inspections.
Their earlier experience includes working within the professional services sector in a generalist HR capacity, where they were involved in graduate recruitment, L&D, and reward. They also have a strong background in producing clear, accessible HR documentation, developing toolkits and guidance to support line managers, and using data to inform decision-making.
This candidate brings clear commercial awareness, emotional intelligence, and hands-on HR delivery experience. They’ve successfully managed complex investigations, resolved the majority of tribunal cases pre-hearing, and created impactful HR infrastructure from the ground up.
They are now looking for their next role and are open to both interim and permanent opportunities at a base salary of around £40-45k, depending on the role, package, and location.

Our Terms of Business
We believe in transparent and competitive pricing. That’s why we offer a fixed-fee structure: £2,995 for UK assignments and €3,495 for EU-based roles. There are no ongoing fees, hidden costs, or surprises—just a straightforward introduction fee.
The Interim HR Network is a modern approach to connecting immediately available HR professionals with potential employers. By focusing solely on targeted introductions, rather than managing the full recruitment lifecycle, we can offer a highly competitive fee arrangement.
And if you decide to extend the contract or transition to a permanent hire? No problem—the fee stays the same.
