HR Director | London | c165k
We’re pleased to introduce a senior HR leader with an exceptional track record across global financial services. With experience spanning listed firms, global banking environments, and fast-paced trading businesses, this candidate brings strategic insight, operational depth, and a calm, pragmatic approach to transformation and change.
In their last role as Group Head of HR for a listed business with 1,000 employees across 14 jurisdictions, this candidate has shaped and led the global HR strategy. They manage the full HR function, covering business partnering, talent acquisition, learning and development, reward, HR operations, and systems. They’ve also held additional accountability for Sustainability and Premises, reflecting their breadth and trusted status at board level.
Key achievements include introducing an in-house talent acquisition function that now delivers high-quality hiring outcomes while saving the business around £2m per year. They’ve also implemented Workday globally as the core HR system, using it beyond traditional HR operations to support business-critical areas including compliance and SMCR.
Reward is a particular area of expertise. They’ve led the development of share awards, options schemes, and commission structures. They’re also a key contributor to the Annual Report, including the Remuneration and People sections, and sit on both the RemCo and NomCo.
Before their most recent role, they held senior HR positions within global financial institutions, often working across complex regulatory environments. They led the people workstream for a Brexit-related restructure, establishing a new legal entity in Continental Europe with all associated HR infrastructure. In previous roles, they’ve partnered closely with senior leaders across the UK and Europe, leading large-scale restructures, reward design, and high-risk ER matters across multiple jurisdictions.
Earlier in their career, they supported trading, treasury, and commercial banking divisions, leading on organisational design, regulatory programmes, and international talent strategies.
This is a credible, commercially aware HR leader who combines technical expertise with strong stakeholder engagement. They’re now exploring their next move and are open to both interim and permanent opportunities at a target salary of around £165k. They bring global experience, calm leadership, and a proven ability to deliver meaningful change in complex, fast-paced environments.
